High-profile agent Mino Raiola is reportedly trying to offer Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt to Barcelona. But the problem of the La Liga team is the wages of the players.
But, as of Raiola’s own words that came out Sunday. How long that is the case is suddenly completely up in the air.
Last week, Raiola held talks with Barcelona president Joan Laporta in Turin, Italy, with
rumors suggesting they are likely to discuss possible deals. Only Dortmund forward Erling Haaland and Manchester United star Paul Pogba.
Well, that’s not what you would call reassuring or anything close to it. I preferred the line I saw a few times on Twitter after the initial Raiola quotes. That de Ligt’s next step would be to become Juventus’ captain. I’m sure a lot of people — or the vast, vast majority of them — would be totally OK with all of that,
however, Sport claim that one of them is De Ligt’s deal at his agent. The Italian has suggested that the Juventus defender’s fee is well below the €120 million
release clause, however, despite Barca’s interest in De Ligt, they are struggling with the current salary cap.
It was previously reported that they will have to try to let off surplus players such as Philippe Coutinho and Samuel Umtiti before they can qualify for the Dutch star.
