However, he was out of work for less than two months before Farioli returned to the job, taking

over from Martin Anselmi, who won just 10 of his 21 games in charge, leading the team to a third-place finish in the Portuguese league and crashing out of the Club World Cup in the group stage.

“We still have a long way to go. I believe we will play at least 50 games, and we want to go far in all competitions. From July 11, we have to be united. This is an iconic club with a rich history. The club represents a certain mentality and spirit. I am also very passionate, and I am someone who coaches very actively.”

Porto ended last season without a trophy. Plus, having not won the league title since 2022,

Farioli began his coaching career in Turkey and had an excellent performance while managing Nice in the 2023-24 season, leading the team to a 5th place finish in Ligue 1.

He mainly used a 4-3-3 system and marked people in a man-to-man style, as well as emphasizing high pressing, which is the same football style that Roberto De Zerbi uses.
